Overtime on Manufacturing costing routings

Hello
does manufacturing in B.C. account for overtime rates. Generally you set up the cost on the work centre, but if you go into overtime, how could that be posted on a production order? Or is it possible? I know there are some apps like Shopfloor Insights that can do this, but in standard BC, is there a way to do it?
I have the same question (0)

    Hello,
Standard Business Central manufacturing does not support overtime rates—capacity and production costs always use the static rates defined on Work Centers/Machine Centers, with no distinction between normal time and overtime when posting output. The usual workarounds are separate work centers with higher rates for overtime, manual cost adjustments, or ISV apps/customization (like Shopfloor Insights). Out of the box, there’s no automatic overtime costing on production orders.

Try using the Capacity Journal and post with an alternate Work Center that has the higher unit cost (or you can use the Output Journal). The way you'll use these journals depends on whether you're only posting labor or also posting production output at the same time.

Test this in your DEV environment and check the related Production Order ledger entries to verify the results.

    HI,

As such in BC there isn't any options to book it, however you have multiple options.

    1. You can post the Output journal with the same operation in which you want to book the overtime by adding the additional Run time with the same cost.

    2. If you want to post the overtime with different cost, then you can post the overtime with the Output journal on the same production order by changing the work center & entering the cost manually on the output journal. (Boolean "Specific Unit Cost" should be mark as a True).

This requires customization, or you can submit this idea to Microsoft.
