Questions Regarding Dynamics 365 Legacy Embedded Licensing and Base/Attach Compatibility

Hi everybody,

I have two questions regarding Legacy Embedded (ISV/Embed) licenses and their compatibility with the standard Dynamics 365 licensing model:

  1. Base/Attach Logic for ISV/Embed

    Does the standard Dynamics 365 Base/Attach licensing logic also apply to ISV/Embedded licenses?

  2. Cross‑License Combination

    Is it possible to combine an NCE Attach license with an ISV/Embedded Base license — or vice versa?

    ManoVerse 820 Super User 2026 Season 1 on at
    Base/Attach logic -> only for first‑party Dynamics 365 apps
    ISV/Embedded licenses ->  do not support Base/Attach
    Cross‑combining Embedded Base with NCE Attach -> not supported
    If you are working with embedded licensing, the best practice is to follow the ISV Cloud Embed program rules and avoid mixing embedded and first‑party licenses in Base/Attach scenarios.
