How do I activate Benefit licenses with my work account, or how do they work?

  • Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise

  • Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium

    Great question 👍—“Benefits” licenses can be a bit confusing at first.
    You’re seeing:
    • Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise
    • Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium
    These are typically partner/developer benefits (e.g., Visual Studio subscription, partner program), not automatically active user licenses.
     
    How Benefit Licenses Work
     
    Important:
    • These licenses are entitlements, not auto-assigned
    You must:
    • Activate them in your tenant
    • Assign them to users
    Step-by-Step Activation
     
    1. Verify Where Benefits Come From
     
    Common sources:
    • Microsoft Partner Program (MPN)
    • Visual Studio Subscription
    Check:
    • Partner Center
    • My Visual Studio Benefits portal
    2. Redeem / Link to Tenant
    If not already done:
    • Go to:
      • Partner Center → Benefits
    • Activate:
      • Dynamics 365 licenses
    This links licenses to your Microsoft 365 tenant
     
     3. Assign License to User
    Go to:
    • Microsoft 365 Admin Center
      • Users → Active Users
      • Select your user
      • Licenses & Apps
    Assign:
    • Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise
    • Business Central Premium
    4. Access the Apps
    After assignment:
     
    For Sales:
    For Business Central:
