When scheduling a report with a wordlayout in BC25 or BC26 onprem using Report Output Type = Print, the job failes. In the eventlog one can find "aspose.pdf.printing - the value cannot be null, Parameter PrintFileName."
This happens with all word layout reports (rdlc works fine). Tested were conduced with Cronus-BC25.10 and Cronus-BC26.4.
In BC24 and earlier it worked fine.
Could somebody at Microsoft please fix this problem urgently?
Schedule a Report with Report OutPut Type = Print is broken for WordLayout-Reports in BC25, BC26
Hi,
This is a known issue in BC25/BC26 On-Prem with Word layouts. When Report Output Type = Print, the system fails because Word layouts require a temporary PDF file to print, and the PrintFileName parameter isn’t generated automatically.
Workarounds:
> Use Report Output Type = PDF and then print the PDF instead of direct printing.
> Continue using RDLC layouts if direct printing is required.
> For automated printing of Word layouts, consider a small AL extension to generate the PDF first and send it to the printer.
> Direct Word layout printing via the scheduler is not supported in BC25/26 On-Prem.
