Consolidation company dimensions mapping when different from subsidary dimensions

In a Consolidation company, I am attempting to map Dimensions from various subsidiary companies into one dimension value in the consolidation company.
For example, the subsidiary dimension values might be Wales, England, Scotland but in the Consolidation company I want this to be Great Britain. It's not clear where to map this in BC.
I have the same question (0)

I don't know of a method to translate dimensions in a consolidation but you can perform dimension corrections after the consolidation as an extra step. You can take all dimension values that show Wales, England and Scotland and change them to Great Britain.

The links below describe how to correct them:

You could run this for all entries at once too, it wouldn't have to be one by one.

    Hello,

Business Central does not map dimensions automatically during consolidation.
To map multiple subsidiary values (Wales, England, Scotland) into one consolidated value (Great Britain), use:

    “Dimension Value Mapping”

    This lets you define:

Subsidiary dimension value → Consolidation dimension value

Business Units are important part for consolidation

. GLs are mentioned in Chart of Accounts which need to be mapped .

dimensions are not auto mapped as feature of consolidation .
For mapping Dimensions if there is variance , kindly use " Intercompany Dimension Values Mapping"

    Best Practice

    Keep Standardization of Dimensions .

    Hello,

In Business Central, dimension mapping for consolidation is done in the Business Unit Card under the Dimensions section, where you manually link each subsidiary dimension value (e.g., Wales, England, Scotland) to a single consolidated value (e.g., Great Britain) in the consolidation company.

This mapping ensures that when you run the consolidation process, all entries from subsidiaries post with the correct consolidated dimension values, but note that BC does not automatically group values—you must define each mapping explicitly.

This is supported with standard functionality. If you personalize the Dimensions page, you can add the Consolidation Code field, and the same applies to the Dimension Values page. You can set up your mapping directly there.

There’s no need for any extra steps during consolidation, the system handles it automatically.
