Hello Expert,
Hope you’re doing well.
Could you please advise on the best approach for handling an environment transfer in the following scenario?
- We currently have a tenant (Tenant XT) where Company X is running its live Production environment successfully.
- For a different client (Client ABCD), the development team has completed customizations in Sandbox 1 within Tenant XT.
- Testing has been completed in Sandbox 2, and UAT has been completed in Sandbox 3 for Client ABCD, all within Tenant XT.
We have now purchased and activated a new tenant (Tenant ABCDT) specifically for Client ABCD.
Our requirement is to transfer Sandbox 1, Sandbox 2, and Sandbox 3 from Tenant XT to Tenant ABCDT, including all customizations, configurations, and UAT data.
Is there a way to take a full backup (either environment-level or tenant-level), excluding the Production environment, and restore it into the new tenant or anu other approach which is not lengthy and cost effective.
From my understanding, one approach would be to first deploy the customized extensions from Tenant XT to Tenant ABCDT, and then migrate the data using Configuration Packages (RapidStart). However, this approach is time-consuming, involves significant manual effort, and increases the risk of missing configurations—potentially requiring full regression testing again.
I would appreciate your guidance on whether there is a more efficient and reliable approach.
