I’m looking for practical, production‑proven approaches for financial reporting in Business Central in a multi‑company setup.
Scenario:
- Multiple source companies posting documents with correct document-level exchange rates
- Reporting requirement is to present financial data (P&L, BS, G/L details) in a reporting currency using the exchange rate from the original document posting date
- We already confirmed that standard BC consolidation does not preserve historical ACY values, as ACY is recalculated at consolidation date
Question:
Are you aware of any reliable reporting solutions or patterns that:
- work directly on source companies (not on the consolidated G/L),
- allow exporting or reporting financial data (e.g. in Excel),
- and support calculations based on historical source document exchange rates?
This can be AppSource solutions (e.g. Excel‑based, BI‑based) or other approaches that work well in real-life projects.
Any shared experience or recommendations would be highly appreciated.
