Hello everyone,

I am currently working on licensing and am facing a difficult situation.

For a role we have assigned to many users in the company, the required license is being elevated to SCM due to an object within that role. If I remove this object, users will be unable to perform their tasks. While changing the status of work orders does not require an SCM license, why is this license mandatory for maintenance requests? How can I resolve this situation?

The licensing cost will be very high. Because I'm talking about 10-15 users.

That privilege needs the supply chain license (which could be wrong as well). There are three, display menu items, making it Supply chain:

You may want to raise it with Microsoft support and ask fro the fix.

Hi metehandanyal,

The privilege belongs to the security roles Maintenance clerk and Maintenance manager in the standard security implementation. According to the licensing guide these roles are requiring an SCM license. The guide is leading for the new object-based calculation.

You can try to create a copy of the privilege and remove write access from the three objects listed by Sohaib. In case the users can then perform the tasks, you are lucky. In case they need to have write access to one of these three objects, this requires an SCM. In that case, a support ticket will not change the license requirements for these three securable objects.
