I have found a possible issue with the standard approval workflow in Business Central SaaS v28.1 using "Approver Chain".
Environment:
- Business Central SaaS v28.1
- Standard workflow functionality (no customizations)
Scenario:
I have configured an approval chain:
A → B → C
Approval User Setup:
- B has an insufficient approval limit
- C is the final qualified approver
Current behavior:
When the approval request is created:
- Seq 1 = Approved
- Seq 2 = Open
- Seq 3 = Created
After approving sequence 2:
- Sequence 3 remains indefinitely in status "Created"
- It never changes to "Open"
Expected behavior:
After approving sequence 2, sequence 3 should automatically change from:
Created → Open
Has anyone experienced this behavior in v28.1?
Could you please confirm if this is a standard issue?
