Define financial dimensions for stock transfer order (India localization)

As we know that the transfer order (stock transfer) does not have an option to define financial dimensions. Does the latest version of D365 FO (10.0.45 and higher) has got this option back?

As per our business process, we have customized and have kept the financial dimensions enabled for stock transfer orders to have a better visibility into cost movements and financial reporting.

Would be great if someone confirms on this!

Hi,

As already mentioned by Laurens this is not in the standard application. He also shared the idea I created over 5 years ago. It has been frequently asked by clients.

Can you clarify why you mentioned India localization in the question title? I don't think this is only a requirement in India.

Hi,

Have a look at this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/localizations/india/apac-ind-stock-transfer.

From version 10.0.45, the mentioned feature has become mandatory and as a result financial dimension tab will not be available by standard. Dimension link can be used to get the dimension from site master.

Prior to this version, feature could've been tuned off which shows the financial dimension but not now.

@CA Neeraj Kumar - Thanks for your reply. So the current behavior of the system is:

-It is not possible to add/edit financial dimensions for stock transfer orders. The financial dimension tab itself has been removed by Microsoft.

-The financial dimensions are to be defined at product master level if they must be fetched for stock transfer order.

-Oure requirement still remains the same where we need financial dimensions for stock transfer order as part of our reporting which is now not getting covered with out of the box format of transfer order.

Once you verify this, I can close the thread.

Hi,

Yes the understanding is correct.

Financial dimension can be fetched from product or from site master as well if we are using dimension link option.

For reporting purpose, you can use the dimension from InventTransPosting table but after posting only.
