Hello everyone,
We are evaluating the possibility of embedding Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Web Client pages (for example, inventory or item-related pages) into an external web application using an iframe, as described in the Microsoft documentation.
From a technical perspective, we understand that embedding pages is supported. However, we would like to clarify the licensing implications of this approach.
Specifically:
Does each end user who accesses an embedded Business Central page via iframe require a Business Central user license (Essentials or Premium)?
Would a Team Member license be sufficient if the embedded page is used mainly for viewing inventory information?
Are there any licensing differences between embedding pages via iframe versus accessing the same pages directly through the Business Central Web Client?
Is this approach intended only for internal users, or can it be used for external/portal users from a licensing standpoint?
We want to ensure that our design complies fully with Microsoft’s licensing policies before proceeding.
