Vendor Bank account set up

I'm setting up vendor bank account on vendor card. It asks for information that is not obvious to me:

  • Bank Code: this is apparently a three digit code but I have no idea what it corresponds to on this US based Wells Fargo account.
  • Bank Branch No: I know that this one isn't necessary
  • Bank Account No: I have this number
  • Transit No: I thought that this was the same as the routing number, but a web search gives me several articles that say transit number and routing number are not the same thing.

Can anyone help me with the three-digit "Bank Code," and the Transit number?

    Wes,

    The Bank Code you can leave blank since this is not normally used when sending an EFT file, unless your Bank is mandating it in the EFT NACHA file. Transit No. = ABA Routing Number for the Vendor Bank. You should get this value from the Vendor.
