Can we edit Opportunity Sales Stage Option Set?

On the Opportunity Form there is a field "Sales Stage" which contains an option set "Opportunity Sales Stage"

I don't want to use the values in this option set and want to edit it with my own but it doesn't let me know.

Is this one of the fields that can't be modified?

    Hi

To edit the Opportunity Sales Stage, you'll need to go to the "Option Sets" component of your CRM solution. To get there: Settings>Customiszations>Option Sets>Stage Category.

This will be where you'll find all your opportunity sales stages and where you can add or modify an existing stage.

Yes, we can edit it. Go to settings>>customization>>customize the system>>option sets>>Stage category....as shown below:

I have also done what was suggested, but it does not produce on the sales stage in opportunities. Very frustrating.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this?

The values in the Pipeline Phase field will not update automatically if you perform the update to the Stage Category mentioned above. You will need to go into each Opportunity and advance the stage, or automate the update of those values through workflow or excel import

What is the Opportunity Sales Process Entity?  Does it only apply to the native BPF?

Also, it seems that the Opportunity option set SALES STAGE is redundant of the Business Process Flow STAGE.   Am I missing something?  I know they are different fields .. one an attribute of the Opportunity (Sales Stage) and the other an attribute of the BPF (Stage).

I agree - the managed properties will not let you edit the option set for sales Stage (pipeline) - find odd as I would think any company would want their own values NOT just (Qualify, Develop, Propose, close). ...and the Sales Category  is not the same field.

RE: Can we edit Opportunity Sales Stage Option Set?

I would like to follow up on this forum. I have customized the Business Process Flow to include a stage for Negotiation.

When viewing the opportunities kanban view. The Opportunities only show under the 'Status' view rather than in the 'Business Process Flow' view.

Is there anyone that can provide guidance on the proper way to update the Sales Stage/Business Process Flow Stage so that the opportunities are viewable in BOTH Business Process Flow view and 'Status' view?

You need to go to settings>>customization>>customize the system>>processes and open the "Opportunity Sales Process" item. From there you can add/edit/remove the stages
