Hello Professionals,

In the recent version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, I noticed a field titled "Direct Cost Non-Inventory Applied Account" under the General Posting Setup page. Despite testing various scenarios, I have not been able to identify a situation in which this specific account is impacted or utilized.

Could anyone kindly share a real-world scenario or use case where this account comes into effect? Any insights or documentation references to better understand its behavior would be greatly appreciated.

This account is utilized in scenarios where:

Non-Inventory or Service Items are purchased.

The costs of these items are directly applied to jobs, fixed assets, or other specific accounts.

The system needs to offset the direct cost applied to maintain balanced accounting entries.
