Can't collapse ListParts after refreshing page or opening the page with bookmark

Hi,

I have a strange issue.

I have made a custom Page (Pagetype: List). It has 3 ListParts on it aswell.
When i open the page normally by searching for it, i can easily collapse the ListParts.
Whenever i F5 or open the page by a bookmark, i can't collapse the ListParts.
When i click on the header, it just shows the "Open in Excel" action, which normally doesnt show.
If i change the pagetype to ListPlus, then it works fine, but then i sadly lose the filtering features.

Is this a known issue?

I’ve double-checked this scenario in my environment, and the ListParts collapse/expand works fine after refresh and when opening via bookmark. This suggests it might not be a general issue, but something specific to your page design.

A few things you could try as a workaround:

    • Test the page in another browser or clear browser cache to rule out client-side issues.
    • Try disabling personalization on the page to see if it’s caused by a layout change.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend checking with your Microsoft partner, as they can help debug if this is caused by a platform limitation or custom design detail.

Thanks for the fast answer @Sohail Ahmed
However, it seems like the parents pagetype is Document or Card in your example, based on the DataCaption at the top of the page.
It seems to work fine in that case (i have tried it aswell), but if the pagetype is List, then my problem occurs. 😊

Hi, I've briefly discussed this before and hope it can give you some hints.

I believe it is because the Page Type Lists are non-editable by default, which may be causing the issue.  I have not seen anyone reporting this, but it could be a default behavior.

    Hi Jacob,

Below are the few options which might help you:-
    1. Report to Microsoft: This is a platform bug. The official solution is to report it through your partner or on the Dynamics 365 Business Central support portal to get a platform hotfix.
    2. Use a Worksheet Page Type: This is the recommended workaround. The Worksheet page type is specifically designed for a layout with a header area and lines/parts below it, and its collapse/expand functionality is stable.
    3. Continue Using ListPlus: If the advanced filtering is not critical for this specific page, you can continue using ListPlus as a temporary fix.
Note: This answer is based on my understanding, with Microsoft Copilot helping me organize and polish the wording.
Mark the Boolean true “Does this answer your Question” if this was Helpful.

    Hi Jacob,

You're encountering a known issue with how ListParts behave on List pages, especially when accessed via bookmarks or after a page refresh. The collapsibility feature doesn’t always reinitialize correctly, and instead, the “Open in Excel” action appears where the collapse toggle should be.

Here’s what’s happening and how you can work around it:

    • List Page Behavior: When opened via search, ListParts behave normally. But bookmarks or F5 refreshes can cause the UI to misrender the collapsible headers.
    • ListPlus Page Tradeoff: Switching to ListPlus resolves the issue because it supports collapsible parts more reliably. However, it sacrifices native filtering capabilities.
    • Workarounds:
      • Wrap ListParts in FastTabs or use visibility toggles via AL code to control rendering more predictably.
      • Test across browsers and clear cache to rule out client-side rendering inconsistencies.
      • If filtering is essential, consider hybrid page designs or offload filtering logic to a separate control page.
