Trial Balance Report Extension – Shortcut Dimension Filters Not Working

ReportReport

Hi,
I’m extending the Trial Balance report in Business Central to add Global and Shortcut Dimensions (3–8). The fields show on the request page, but:

🔴 Filters appear but don’t apply to the report output.

I tried the same logic in the "Detailed Trial Balance" report, and it worked fine. But it doesn’t work in "Trial Balance".

Has anyone faced this? How can I make dimension filters work in the Trial Balance report?

Thanks!

I have the same question (1)

    Hi,

You can use shortcut dimensions as filter option but not able to pull similar to Global Dimension. Did you try new excel reports which might help as its similar to pivot table

It seems to be a code problem. Hopefully the following information can give you some clues.

It seems to be a code issue. Even though the filters for Shortcut Dimensions 3–8 appear on the request page, the standard Trial Balance report (Report 6) doesn’t apply them automatically. You’ll need to manually add the filter logic in AL using SetRange or SetFilter inside the OnPreDataItem trigger for "G/L Entry".
