Creating a sales pipeline chart for each sales territory and for each customer territory

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by 55

I have open opportunities at various Sales Stages for which I can see the sales pipeline by using a created chart. This is a funnel chart with the various sales stages and sum of estimated revenues.

Each opportunity owner has a sales territory assigned and I wish to see a sales stage chart or report for each sales territory.

How do I do this? I have tried creating a field in the view to filter but I cannot find sales territory in the list.

The Report window also mentions customer territories which I would like to implement as well but I do not know how.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Michael

    Hi Michael,

I think it may be difficult to represent this as a funnel chart without doing some XML coding.  As a workaround I think you could create a custom field in your opportunity form that assigns a territory based on the opportunity owner by using a real-time workflow.  You could then create a bar chart that uses the Esitmated Revenue for the Legend Entries (Series), and Pipeline Phase and the custom Territory field you created for the Horizontal Axis.

I have shown below a sample of stacked bar chart that uses Pipeline Phase and Owner on the Horizontal Axis.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ryan,

Thank you for your answer. With that, the workflow will have to be updated whenever any new owners are added or sales territories are changed, correct? Or can the workflow access the Sales Territory information in CRM?

    HI MIchael,

If you are creating a workflow that is reliant upon owners and/or territories that are likely to change then you would need to update it as changes are made to either of these.

If you had the 'territory' custom field on your user form, you could then use this to update the 'opportunity' form. As long as you add the information in each time you add a new user it will work fine.

I'm not sure if the workflow can access the Sales Territory information, maybe one of the MVPs can advise?
