Hi,
Is there a way to make use of SQL 2016 together with CRM 2016?
Does anybody already made experiences with this constellation ?
Thank you in advance!
BR Tim

Hi Tim
Currently SQL 2016 is not supported for installation with CRM 2016 , however that is not to say that it is not possible to install with SQL 2016, and im sure it will be supported at some point but not yet, from my eperience its always better to let the latest OS 'Bed in' before adopting it as there are usually teething issues and with SQL u dont want to take any risks;

Kindly tick 'Yes' to Verify :)
Best Wishes, Raz
Hi Raz,
I'm currently spearheading a CRM Deployment in a new Bank and I was hoping you'd have some Banking Customers in the UK who already use Microsoft Dynamics CRM and are willing to host my Retail Banking and Customer Service teams for a site visit to get some ideas around strategy and how to use Dynamics CRM in a Banking environment. This would help us determine the optimum number of licenses to purchase etc.
I'd appreciate any assistance i can get on this.
Many thanks
The Report Server Manager is different to SQL 2014. So when you installing CRM 2016, you will get configuration error.
Is there a work around for this yet?
I have completed the installation (SQL Server 2016 and CRM 2016) and it works fine no problems.
There is a problem though with Report Server Manager (as Biao Xiao pointed out). The problem stems from the fact that SQL 2016 is different than SQL 2014.
Specifically when you try installing "Microsoft Dymanics Reporting Extensions" the install will fail trying to find the "web.config" file for the Reporting Manager. The CRM install is looking for:
Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS13.MSSQLSERVER\ReportingManager\web.config
BUT... there is no such folder in SQL 2016!
I saw that MS released a patch for Dymanics AX to fix this issue and they will most likely they will do the same with CRM at some point. So far I spent a whole day searching for a solution but couldn't find one.
I did this ( install SQL2016 and CRM2016 on the same computer) but I have same problem described by Peter Van. There is problem with SSRS (srsdataconnector) :(
I ended up scrapping the vm and rebuilding using SQL2014
Hi Peter,
I've just installed the fix for this problem : CRM2016-Srs-KB3154952-LangID-amd64.exe
you could find it here support.microsoft.com/.../3154952
hope it's helpful for you.
Hi YuanZhao, I met the issue too. So should I uninstall Dynamics CRM 2016 Reporting Extension first then install CRM2016-Srs-KB3154952-LangID-amd64.exe?
Hi Edison, yes I've done as your procedure: uninstall Dynamics CRM 2016 Reporting Extension, install the fix CRM2016-Srs-KB3154952-LangID-amd64.exe, then reinstall Dynamics CRM 2016 Reporting Extension. Hope it works for you.
