Hello,

Can we create Fixed Assets card in GP in the month of January 2012 with a previous DPIS of 2011. For this do we need to run the depreciation GL Posting with previous year date. Can we do a GL posting with prior year date? Also, which option we neet to select for creation of card with previous year DPIS. Life reset, recalculate or the other. Please help?

    Yes, you can create an asset record with a DPIS prior to the current period.  You shouldn't need to select a recalculation method as this is a new asset.  You won't be changing any depreciation sensitive fields.  When you run depreciation, depreciation for this asset will begin at the DPIS date.
