Out Of The Box Security Roles

Hello Team,

Is there an online resource that lists, describes, and states the purpose of each out of the box security role in D365.

With the exception of System Administrator and System Customizer, I would like to know the purpose or intent of the remaining out of the box security role so that I may be able to determine which role to copy that will require the least amount of modification to serve my purposes.

hey Jose.

This will depend on the application you're using. For example, this location discussed regular roles on Marketing:

docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-users-licenses-roles

On Sales, you have docs.microsoft.com/.../security-roles-for-sales. This discusses for example the regular roles (Sales Manager, Sales Professional person, Sales team member, etc)

Thank you both!!! This is exactly waht I'm looking for!!

My company is fianlly making the move to D365 Customer Engagement (online) and I'm tasked with identifying what these predifined security roles are and how we can leverage them moving forward.

Daniel, would it be too much to ask for a document that identifies security roles for Customer Service? I've tried using the terms "default" and "predefined" but I keep getting redirected to the standard "Creating Security Roles in Dynamics" document.

Hey Jose.

There are 2 links I've seen:

docs.microsoft.com/.../role-persona-mapping

Basically, you will have the Customer Service Representative (CSR, a support agent) and Customer Service Representative Manager (a manager). You also have the Roles associated with Omnichannnel.
