Workflows and Sequence number

Hi,
I try to create workflow in BC with the setup below but could't get proper reesult. Is it possible to make the setup I described?

1) Workflow User Group: TEST, covers 3 users with sequence number setup:
Specialist_1 (Sequence =1)
Specialist_2 (Sequence =1)
Manager (Sequence =2)

2) When purchase invoice approval is sent then, approval requests should be created as following:
  • Both specialists should approve the document (Specialist_1, Specialist_2)
  • As soon both specialists approved document, then approval should go to Manager
I have the same question (0)

If you assign the same sequence to multiple users, the document request will move to the next sequence as soon as any one of them approves.

For example, if the flow is from Specialist 1 to Specialist 2 and then to the Manager, please assign the sequences as 1, 2, 3, etc., accordingly.

    Hi,

I set this up by doing the following:

Create workflow user group as below.

I then set the workflow user group on the following line.

Keep all the standard settings as below.

The approval flow works as requested.

    Hope that helps.

Agree with previous response. Workflow user group by ranking the approvers is usually the way to go. Bigger number mean higher in hierarch.

Your setup is incorrect, it should be to other way, same sequence number means only one person will approve. Please check the below text from Microsoft Learn

Typically, sequence numbers are sequential for users in a workflow user group. However, multiple users can have the same sequence number. When that's the case, only one of the users must approve a request before the workflow goes to the next step. For example, if user A and user B are both number two in the sequence, the workflow goes to the step three when when either user A or user B approves the request.

Hi All, thanks for the review and I tested all suggestions. As as conclusion:
-can't use the same Sequence No in Workflow User Group -> only one approver with the same Sequence No can approve the document and then it goes to next approver in hierarchy (that's correct as for BC standard approach)

In my business scenario, I'd to sent purchase invoice approval for 2 people (Specialist_1, Specialist_2) and insist on them both approvals.
I'd like to send such approval for two above users at the same time (not firslty Specialist_1, and secondly Specialist_2) -> main reason is that both approvals are needed and if both can approve at the same time, that increase the time required for approval (in example I have 2 users, in reality I have 6 of them).

It seems to be a kind of customization or change in the process.

    1) Workflow User Group: TEST, covers 3
    Specialist_1
    Specialist_2
    Manager
