We were looking to insert images in the knowledge base for CRM Dynamics, is there some sort of add on or some customization that will allow us to do this?

Re: Inserting images in Knowledge Base

Images in knowledge base articles follow the same standard as they do in CRM e-mails. The image must be hosted on a server that is reachable by the user that will see the knowledge base article. So if only your employees will see it, the image can be hosted on your Intranet. But if customers on your web site need to see it your image will have to be on a public Internet site.

Just like e-mails, browse to the picture in Internet Explorer, right click and copy it, and then paste it into the KB article. The article will retain the photo as long as it can find the URL of the image.

So if I understand you correctly, you are stating that I can use html to tag images in the knowledge base.

thanks for the tip, I'll try this out tomorrow.

Hi I tried the suggestion but could not get the image to appear, the tags I used got converted to html entities so the link stayed in the body.

Is there something I need to do to allow CRM to distinguish between text and html?

It's not the same as entering HTML. You have to copy and paste the rendered HTML output onto the page.

Just go to the HTML page that has the image you want to use on it. Right-click on the picture and COPY. Then go to the Knowledge Base article and PASTE. The picture should show up as long as whomever is viewing the knowledge base article has open access to the web server that is hosting the picture.

Thank you  for your help Hudey123 , it worked. Kind of an odd way of doing it but I'll take it. :-)

Yeah it's really odd the way it works (are you listening MS?). Keep in mind if you want to do the same thing in a CRM e-mail message you do it the same way.
