Configuration of Multi-Select-Solution

Hello everyone,

looking for a way to offer a multi-select control in Dynamics i stumbled upon the recently released Multi-Select-Solution developed by Sonoma Partners (link to the solution).

Unfortunately, I am not able to get this solution up and running. The first question I have is how do I select the actual control that should be displayed? In their guideline they say one should set either sonoma_/multiselect/listview.html or sonoma_/multiselect/selectize.html as web resource, but not how one can choose the specific control.

Moreover, I tried to use a native n:n relationship to get the data but I always receive the following error message: "Error: Could not find a valid datasource from supplied parameters" (for testing purposes I selected Account as linked entity in the relationship).

Did someone already configured this solution and could help me out with a step-by-step guideline for a simple implementation with a n:n relationship?

Thank you in advance,

best regards!

The `label` parameter can be anything you like, it is like any other form field's label. It is simply to provide a description for the data that is being entered into the multi-select. Hope that helps!

Can you please what is label? Is it label of N:N relationship?

or is it lable of Current Entity \ Other Entity?

Thank you Sonoma for responding.  That correction to the instructions ("manytomanyrelationship=new_interests&label=Interests") fixed our issue.

    RE: Configuration of Multi-Select-Solution

Hey all, I'm a developer with Sonoma Partners. In case any of you all have any future issues with any of our community solutions, please feel free to contact us directly through our website. That way we can help support you and improve our documentation! :)

As for the error mentioned, it appears you're receiving the error because the required "label" setting is not defined. Your setting of "manytomanyrelationship=new_interests" should actually be "manytomanyrelationship=new_interests&label=Interests" to resolve this issue. We admit the documentation on this is not the clearest at the moment and are working to clean that up.

As well, to your other initial question @Nikolas_, you are selecting the control the correct way. Each web resource maps to a single control. Therefore the one you selected in the screenshot "selectize.html" maps to the "Selectize" control documented on our website.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Nikolas

I am trying the same Multi-Select-Solution.  Did you ever get an answer for the erError: "Could not find a valid datasource from supplied parameters."  We thought we were following the directions but we are stuck now.

    Thanks!

I got it to work with a global option set too, but get the same error as you on N:N relationships.

I need to use this on an N:N, global option set is no good to me so if anyone knows where this is going wrong it would be really helpful.

Alright, I got it configured with a global option set and it works as expected.

Anyone with an idea where the configuration is wrong or how to solve this problem?

    Thank you & best regards

Sure, here it is (as mentioned, for testing purposes I simply used the account entity):
