There should be a way to navigate to the purchase invoice from the item ledger transactions.
Crazy that I can't look at the item ledger and navigate to the purchase invoice showing the price, not just the receipted quantity.

Click on 'Entry' on the ribbon and select 'Value Entries'.
You can then see the values posted and / or navigate to the Posted Purchase Invoice

Click on value of "Cost Amount(Actual)" column.
Choose line that have value "Purchase Invoice" on Document Type column, and click on "Find entries..." button under Entry tab.
Then, "Posted Purchase Invoice" line will be displayed like below. Now you can open purchase invoice by clicking the number of "No. of Entries" column.
