How to copy Customized view from one solution to another solution

Hi,

I tried to copy the customized view from one solution to another solution. It is possible by moving the entire solution to target location.But I just want to copy only the views by excluding other customizations.Please give me any ideas to resolve this.

    Hi Pushpa,

    Actually the only supported way is only replicate view xml layout using XRM toolbox - view replicator within same organization,

    Because in CRM, by default you need to migrate the whole entity object, 1 entity, view, form, relationship, chart, etc under the entity expanded list you can see the objects, make senses because different organization, an entity can have different fields, for example:

    You have deployed in server A org A, entity Account have 3 new fields : new_fieldA, new_fieldB, new_field C.

    Then in that org you create view and include them as criteria + display columns.

    Then in other server B org B, you only have Account without those 3 fields, if you want to move the view from B to A, it will give unexpected issue because the view will fail to get the 3 fields and I believe will give invalid xml error message failed to translate the xml to the view UI.

    You can read the concept like this article (using moving the savequery table record), but it is I think not supported:

    Or you can edit or modify the customization.xml.

    But, this make sense to not do this.

    You can also see these posts (for importing the user view), but do it after you done copy all the customization is also recommended.

    Yep, I forgot that tool is the part of the XrmToolBox (since rarely use that component, usually only use the view replicator tool).
