No direct tool — you’ll either rebuild the reports in AL manually or upgrade step-by-step to simplify migration.

Unfortunately, there’s no one-click tool that converts 2009 R2 reports directly into AL-based reports for BC SaaS.

    Hi,

My recommendation will be to rebuild the reports manually. There are two specific reasons for this -

    • Some reports can still be in error state when following the step by step migration procedure. You’ll might still need to manually align dataset field names — since the old layout references C/AL field names, not AL dataset columns.

    • Take advantage of new BC features — better grouping, dataset filters, built-in totals, and expressions.

    Tips

    • Start with a few core reports (like Sales Invoice, Purchase Order) — Microsoft already provides new modern versions, extend those instead of rebuilding from scratch.

    • Use Report Extensions in BC to add custom fields to existing reports without recreating the entire dataset.

    • If your reports are highly customized, prioritize those with the most business impact first.

    Hope this helps.

The current solution is to first upgrade the code to BC27, and then recompile and adjust the code and layout.
PS: Dynamics 365 Business Central: Converting C/AL objects to .al format (Txt2Al Conversion Tool)

    Thanks.

    Hello,

There is no tool that converts NAV 2009 R2 reports → BC27 SaaS reports.
You must rebuild them manually in AL (dataset + RDLC/Word layout).
Old Classic reports cannot be converted or imported.
So the only realistic approach is:
    Create a new AL report
    Rebuild dataset
    Rebuild layout
    Copy old logic manually
    No automatic converter exists.

There is no direct migration of 2009 r2 reports to BC-Cloud

    1. Export Report as TXT file

    2. Run TXT2AL tool to convert to AL .

    3. Import into BC 27 Extension

    4. Apply Code , Apply logic , Apply Layout

    5. We need to fix errors

    6. We need to create RDLC layout again

    7. Run & Test
