I'm attempting to install Business Portal 5.1 but am running into a bizarre issue where the SQL configuration field for the installation are greyed out and the database names and SQL server locations can't be specified. It is being installed on WinServer 2008R2 Standard and I am using an admin account.
Has anyone run into this?

The only prerequisite appears to the be the activeX control and that was installed. On further investigation, it lookslike the server had business portal installed on it previously, but it wasn't appropriately uninstalled before a new sharepoint version was installed.

Did you install the prerequisites before installing the Business Portal 5.1?
If not you go to the downloaded for BP 5.1 folders, you will see a Documentation folder; there are the installation instructions along with some user guides etc.
Please try to follow the instructions mentioned in Business portal installation Guide.
