This error usually indicates a failure in a background process or validation check when enabling Bidirectional Sales Order Integration in the CRM-BC integration setup. Since it works in other sandboxes, possible causes include:

    1. Missing setup or mapping – Verify that Sales Order Mapping, Unit Group Mapping, and Currency Mapping are fully configured.
    2. Security permissions – Ensure the user enabling the toggle has full integration and sales order permissions in both BC and Dataverse.
    3. Custom extensions – A custom event subscriber might be throwing a silent error during the toggle action. Check the event logs.
    4. Telemetry or trace logs – Use Azure Application Insights (if enabled) or monitoring tools to capture the error details behind the generic message.

Since the error is not descriptive, enable feature debugging or contact your partner/developer to trace the backend code tied to the toggle.

You can debug to see what is preventing it from being enabled.
Or, although not recommended, you can try the following method.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Can we skip/ignore field validation errors?

    Hi,

The error you're seeing when enabling bidirectional sales order sync is vague, but it typically points to one of three root causes: missing coupling dependencies, conflicting integration settings, or Dataverse permission issues.

    Here’s how to troubleshoot it:

    • First, check if Enable Legacy Sales Order Integration is also active. These two options are mutually exclusive — enabling both will trigger a silent failure.
    • Make sure all dependent records are coupled. For example, if your sales orders reference units of measure, currencies, or customers that aren’t coupled between BC and Dataverse, the sync will fail silently.
    • Review the Integration Synchronization Errors page in BC. It often contains more detailed logs than the UI error message. Use the “Show Error Call Stack” action to trace the issue.
    • Confirm that the integration user in Dataverse has the correct security roles. If the user lacks privileges to access certain entities, the sync will stop. You may need to edit the security role and add missing permissions.
    • If you're using a sandbox, check whether Administration Mode is enabled in Dataverse. This blocks sync for non-admin users and can cause unexpected failures.

If none of these resolve the issue, try disabling bidirectional sync, re-coupling all related entities manually, and then re-enabling the setting. Also test in a fresh sandbox with minimal customizations to rule out environmental conflicts.
