Dimensions as Flow Field for Customer and Vendor Ledger Entries - for Security Filter

Hi,

We are facing below challenge.

  • We want to define permission sets with security filter on Customer and Vendor Ledger entries.
  • Filters needs to be based on Dimensions (not Global Dimensions).
  • I understand that Security Filters don't work with Dimensions other than Global Dimensions.
  • In Dynamics NAV, we could define Flow Field to populate Dimensions as Columns on CLE and VLE.
  • Can this be done in Dynamics 365 Business Central (Cloud).

TIA!

SM

    Hi

I have seen this before (if I remember correctly) but I am not developer and do not know how they did it. See following article that added those to G/L Entry. or the second that provide all possibilities.

The flow fields got the same functionality in Business Central Cloud as it had in Dynamics NAV.

So if you had a customization around this in Dynamics NAV that customization can be moved to Business Central.

Are your dimensions defined as shortcut dimensions?

    Hi Inge,

Yes, they are defined as shortcut dimensions.
