Leads - what sets the Last Campaign Date and Related Campaign response fields?

I've created leads, campaigns, and sent emails, gotten responses, marked activity closed and so on but I can't seem to get a lead record to show either field filled.

I would like to demonstrate to sales and marketing why the fields are useful, but I need to put data in there.

Any hints?

    Industrial,

In the lead perspective, please help to see the activities associated view or social pane, instead of fields.

Aileen, Thanks for trying. I'm not sure what you mean. I've been revising the Lead form. The two fields, Last Campaign Date and Related Campaign Response fields are in the form in the factory configuration. It seemed wise to use them - except I can't get them to populate - at least not on purpose. I did something yesterday that populated the response field on one record only but I don't know what activity caused it. I should be able to look it up in the docs.

Of course I could insert custom fields in order to do what's needed. I would rather understand the built-in fields and use them. I shouldn't have to tell users to ignore what's in the Lead Form and look at an additional view. The user needs to be completing steps in the workflow, and the workflow isn't in the views.
