Auto creation of contact from lead

If you create a lead in CRM with no associated contact record, can you set a workflow so that the lead information can create a contact automatically? On the lead form we can list elements such as First Name and Last Name which are auto populated 'the other way round' i.e. when a contact is associated with a lead, these elements are completed without having to re-enter them. We're trying to reverse the process.

See example of fields we would want to populate FROM lead to CREATE contact

Hi Graham,

It seems like you are asking about a default element here.

So just to be clear I understand your question as follows:

If I qualify a lead record without an existing contact linked to it, I want the system to create a contact with some fields filled in from the lead contact.

This is default (OOB) functionality. Just leave the existing contact field empty and fill in the fields on the lead. Upon qualifiying, the system will see it needs to create a new contact and will do so automatically. No need for a workflow. Mapping additional fields towards the contact can be done by editing the mapping on the relationship between contact and lead, called the 'originating lead'.

Hi Graham,

this is a OOB feature. Fill in "First Name" and "Last Name" in the lead entity.

Once you click on "Qualify", a contact will be created immediately.

Hey,

I did exactly same but I have created 2 plugin for this

Plugin 1 :

Contact is created when lead is created. This is possible using workflow but workflow did not check this contact is already exists or not in CRM ? So I have created plugin to create contact. Please register this plugin on lead post event.

Plugin 2 :

Restrict contact creation when lead is qualified because lead , contact is already created. Please register this plugin when lead qualify post event.
