Hi All.

I am working on GP2010 and creating a new extender detail window.

One of my fields has a field type of short string, however the expansion button is greyed out which means I cannot select the format for that string i.e. I may want that field type to be Numeric only and 3 characters long.

I am assigned to the Poweruser role, so should have full access and  when I select other field types such as lookup the expansion button is not greyed out.

Can you please advise where I have gone wrong.

    I have just tested in my GP2010 test environment in Fabrikam. It did not allow me set format type for short string either. I was adding a new window.

    Is it possible that this option is not available for some reason? Can anyone confirm that they can set format for the short string in Extender Detail Window. I can set format for the short string in  Normal Extender window.
