Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch Connection String no longer available in Visual Studio

I have been designing FetchXML reports in Visual Studio for Dynamics 365 reporting.  We moved our offices, and moved our database to Microsoft Canada, and after that my connection string "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch" in Visual Studio 2013 disappeared (and from my computer as well).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the tools as shown in the link below, but it is still completely missing.  Has anyone run across this problem before?  Were you able to fix the problem?

Thanks.

    Hi Thomas,

Try with different version of VS, probably 2012.

I uninstalled and reinstalled my Microsoft Dynamics 365 Developer Toolkit, Microsoft Dynamics CRM SDK Templates, and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Report Authoring Extension.  The Connection String "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch" came back, but only a few FetchXML RDL reports started to work.  Most fail on "Key not valid for use in specified state", and all the parameter driven reports fail.  There were multiple entries of the Authoring Extension in the Registry, but they have finally been cleaned up.  I am not sure about other options at this point... it might be because we are in a transition state... v.8.2 in Production and v.9.0 in the Sandbox.  It's amazing that something so useful to Dynamics 365 developers would be so poorly designed.

    Hi,

You have to download fresh copy of SDK. Also you can follow this link

    Hi,

Try to install Latest Report Authoring extension.

    Hope this helps:)

I ended up un-installing and re-installing the SDK, Authoring, Extensions, etc... ; once I everything was updated with the latest versions (which took some digging to find), VS2013 started working again, but I had to re-point all my data sources, and start again.
