Where are the decimal places defined for inventory quantity and dollars? I have looked everywhere and googled till I was blue and I can't find anything!?

for the local currency, EUR or in your case dollar i assume, the decimalpaces (precision) is defined in the GL Setup,

for other currencies it is defined per currency, goto the currencies list:

- a precision of more than 2 decimals is possible for amount rounding prec. and unit-amount round. prec.

- to change the precision of the invoice rounding to more than 2 decimals a custumization is needed.

As Jonathan explained, i am adding further more details here, Almost every places system pickup Rounding precision from these two tables depends upon case(i.e. in case of multi currency it will pickup from Currency otherwise from GL Setup.
