SharePoint Integration - Connecting multiple Dynamics Tenants to a single SharePoint site.

Posted on by 5

Good day everyone,

I'm very new here so if any further info is needed to help with this question please let me know.

We're running Dynamics On-Prem and were wondering if it's possible to connect multiple On-Prem Tenants to a single SharePoint Online site with the SharePoint integration guide found at the link below, I couldn't find anything to say it wouldn't work but at the same time, there's nothing to verify that it will or that its a supported configuration. has anyone got any experience or thoughts on this?

We are trying to associate the same Sharepoint site with two different Dynamics CE environments which are whitin the same online tenant.

We were able to enable integration on both environments. Could we somehow create the logic that both environments are using the same sharepoint paths?

    Hi

Yes this is very much possible as long as authentication and permission to the common site is in place. There is no configuration on the sharepoint side connecting sharepoint to Dynamics CE. It is config to control default document site, paths, etc only in D365CE. If there is already a folder existing for an entity then D365CE will use this one. Depending upon entity you might need to loose the guid on the folder to avoid duplicate folders - if you want to share folder structure as well in sharepoint between the D365CE instances.

When you say multiple On-Premise tenants, do you mean separate deployments of Dynamics 365 on prem or do you mean organizations within the same deployment?  I do not see anything that says you cannot do this.  I would only think of issues when using the same document library for different D365 organizations.
