Hi,

Is there a way to preview notes attachments, or at least open them in a new browser window instead of downloading them?

    Hi,

I don't think it's possible, but with specific development (html, javascript) yes.

    please check this

I don't know if this will help you, but I recently found this:

    https://mahadeomatre.blogspot.com/2016/10/view-or-download-attachments-for.html

It seems to work mainly on a form like Case, Contact Account, Opportunity where it goes through Notes and gets out the attachments into a table, and you can either download or view in a preview window.

I'm trying to do preview within an "Email Message" entity, so it didn't work out for me, but it gives me hope that it's possible to do this in Javascript.

Eugen, Did you ever find a neat answer to this?

    Eugen,

Install the free Zap Attachment Viewer App. This will display all the attachments in related notes as well as emails for any CRM record. On installation, the web resource gets automatically added to Account, Contact and Case forms. If you need to preview attachments in any other entity...then simply add the web-resource to that entity form.

If you still are looking for a solution, I might have the answer you are looking for. We have developed an image browser with preview and full size view for Dynamics CRM 365. It handles note attachments as well as activity attachments and populates images on the regarsing object level.

    Regards,

    NP.

as a reference for other users finding this thread, this plugin did the trick for me : DynamicsNinja/PCF-Gallery-Control: PCF control that shows thumbnails of images from entity notes. Control is bound to Single Line of Text field. (github.com)

Using PCF control you can preview document. I use www.npmjs.com/.../react-file-viewer into my PCF control. Which support the following preview:

Images: png, jpeg, gif, bmp, including 360-degree images

    pdf

    csv

    xslx

    docx

    Video: mp4, webm

    Audio: mp3
