Am I able to use fetchXML for Finance and Operations?

Hello, everyone.

I am trying to use FetchXML on endpoint that looks like this https://something.operations.dynamics.com/data/SomeEntity.

I am generating FetchXML query, encoding it, and sending it as fetchXML query parameter. I do get response, which is only the first entry for the entity.

I have tried using a popular LLMs to help me, and the results I'm getting is that I can not use fetchXML with Finance and Operations, and that it is available only for Dynamics 365 CRM or Dataverse. Is that information true?

If that information is not true, and I can actually run fetchXML queries, can I be provided an explanation/resource that explains it?

I don't really know much about FetchXML, but my understanding is too that it's only for Dataverse/CRM, so you can't use it for any arbitrary data sources (such as the OData service you're talking about).

But... you could access the same OData service through Dataverse: by exposing the F&O data entity as a Dataverse virtual entity. I believe this may be the solution.
