We have a requirement to process a supplier invoice and take financial ownership of goods when they have been shipped from our supplier in China and before the goods are received physically here in the UK.
Some of the items are serial number controlled and we are using Advanced Warehouse Management.
The location in the end receiving warehouse is Licence Plate controlled.
Landed cost/Goods in Transit order functionality seems to be a good fit and includes other features to help track the voyage.
I've completed configuration for landed cost in our test system and I am able to successfully complete the process end to end via the client/desktop app.
However, when attempting to receive the goods in transit order for a serialised item with the warehouse management app/emulator, I'm hitting an error:
Serial number XYZ already exists physically in the stock. Operation has been cancelled.
If I enter a new S/N on the above form in the app, stock against the original S/N in the GIT warehouse depletes correctly but of course it is received with a different S/N which is not what we need.
It seems as though, the S/N isn't removed from the GIT warehouse before it is receipted into the main warehouse which creates a conflict.
Some additional information:
- Stock is correctly showing on-hand in the Goods in Transit warehouse with the serial number after the PO invoice is posted.
- Location Directive, GIT Work template and work class is in place and appears to be correct.
- Default receipt location is set for the GIT warehouse and the GIT warehouse is specified on the end receiving warehouse.
- Mobile app menu items are setup using the "Goods in transit item receiving and put away" work creation process.
- I've also tried this with the "Goods in transit item receiving" work creation process and get the same error.
- Receiving non-serialised items via the app/emulator works correctly.
- If I follow the process for serialised items via the desktop client (receiving via the GIT order), it also works correctly.
Has anyone come across this issue before or do you have any ideas of what could be missing in the configuration please?
