Verification of attachment via workflow

Hi guys, 

I have a case form customized and added notes to it in order to attach files for some of the cases. There are two issues, with this: 

1)In one category I need to verify that attachment was added before creating a case. But notes is not editable until I actually create a case.

2)in another category I need to verify that attachment was added on resolving the case. 

Tried to add mapping 1..N for attachments, to make a link between case and Note(technet.microsoft.com/.../mt826702.aspx), but it is not showing when creating workflow in related entities.

    Hi mikluxo,

    For the first point - i'm afraid there is no way to associate child records (subgrids - in this case notes)  with any entity before you create it. This is by design. You can only populate look-up information. For this purpose maybe you can create an extra entity and add some logic  (via a plug-in) to it, so that you relate it to the case after the case gets created?

    For the 2nd point - maybe you can try to register a plug-in when you close the case (Update / Close maybe ?) This can then query the annotation table and search for attachments (msdn.microsoft.com/.../mt593034.aspx). If no attachments are found, then throw an exception and stop the transaction.
