Verifying an upgrade to 2015 R2

Good morning,

I just installed the latest October hotfix, which also included upgrades from GP 2015 R2. Having had no errors from the system while installing or running GP utilities, it seemed the upgrade was successful. However, when testing the system, a bug that was supposed to be cured by this hotfix still remains for me. If you're curious it involves an integration with eConnect for importing analytical accounting dimension codes. The newly created code does not get assigned to the AA tree correctly for some reason. What is an effective procedure to verify my upgrade? How can I see if this latest path took effect? I don't see anything that shows I am running R2 at the moment, which was included in said path. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Every service pack or hotfix changes the build number of GP. If you go to Help>>About Microsoft Dynamics GP, you can see what build number is installed. An alternate way is to just look at the lower-right corner of the "Welcome to Dynamics GP" login window. That shows your version. For example, my login windows my version number is 14.00.0804.

If you go to the URL from which you downloaded the service pack you ran, it should show the build number that would result from successfully installing the service pack.

The number from your login window should match the number shown at the download URL, provided your update was successful.

Frank, I believe that the information you are looking for is Dynamics 14.00.0817 which is the patch I have installed on my GP2015 Client s for the October Hotfix / Canadian Payroll update included.

    Hope this helps.

I appreciate your responses. Following your suggestions I can verify I did indeed upgrade to R2 and have the same version number that was provided by the October hotfix. Given I received no errors and my version number is showing what we'd expect, I believe the upgrade was successful. I'll continue to verify.

    thanks again!
