I am using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 with Master Planning. The forecast reduction method on my Master Plan is set to Transactions - dynamic period. I have some items that do not have a coverage group assigned.
Can you explain in detail what happens to the forecast reduction for these items during master scheduling? Specifically:
Does the forecast still get reduced by actual transactions (sales orders, production orders)?
What time fence is used for the forecast reduction if there is no coverage group?
Is there any default system behaviour for items without a coverage group in this scenario?
Are there any risks or unintended consequences of not having a coverage group assigned when using Transactions - dynamic period?
