Dexterity Tables with same Physical name why?

I am analyzing one old project which contains customization in the SOP Entry window. In that customization, they have been created table in that the physical name is physical name of GP Tables. (e.g. sop10100). I don't know why? any suggestion?

It is a dexterity customization. In that, it is allowing to create a tables with same physical name.

Another thought. I have seen ISVs use the same table names in their own database. I don't like the practice but they are trying to say, for example, this is OUR item master IV00101 with the stuff WE need. They should call it IV00101a

Where are you seeing this? Are you looking into the database using the SQL Management tool? Or are you looking in GP Tools Tables?

Anyone can list tables in a list multiple times with the same name. SQL will not allow a permanent table with the exact same name as another table. In the Tools, these are different definitions for different uses of the same physical table.
