Adjust Exchange Rates batch job documentation and actual functionality does not align

Hi community,

While using the "Adjust Exchange Rates" job, I am not able to find these features in BC (NL Business Central 21.2 (Platform 21.0.49939.52210 + Application 21.2.49946.49990) but they are part of the documentation on MS learn BC. See the screenshots below.

Am i missing something here or is it just poor documentation?

Hi Mohana, thanks for your reply. I am not referring to Currency Exchange Rate Services Setup. This is used to update exchange rates. The Adjust Exchange Rate batch job is used to adjust already posted but open entries in the sub-ledgers.

Hi,

Its interesting this because I was sure I'd seen this as a planned feature in one of the waves but I can't find it. Perhaps it will be implemented in a future wave unless anyone else in the community knows who to activate it. (I did also check the "Feature Management" page to see if you had to switch it on but couldn't see it there either)

Hi Gavin,

I was also surprised to not find at least the Preview function which is generally available for most of the jobs. I'm more disappointed about the fact that the documentation is misleading and inaccurate. I will be leaving my review/feedback on the page in hopes that it will be fixed. :)

You have to enable the "Feature Update: Enable use of new extensible exchange rate adjustment, including posting review" in feature management page.

Then Navigate from Currencies-->Process-->Adjust Exchange Rate

Hi All,

Thanks for replying to this question. I figured out what the issue was.

As pointed out in some replies in this thread, the feature must be first enabled in the feature management page.

The strange behavior that's happening though is that if you access the "Adjust exchange rates" task using the "Search" function, it takes you to the old page where the new features are not visible somehow. However, if you navigate to "Currencies" page and run the "Adjust exchange rate" task from this page, then you are able to see all the new features as well.

I guess its the menu item that isn't coded properly.

I was doing research to see if it’s possible to update the exchange rate for a single transaction when I came across this.

General availability is scheduled for September 2030 as stated below.
