Changing IP address of CRM server

 Hello everyone

We have a need to change the IP address of our CRM server.  Once we change the IP address - our clients are no longer able to connect via the url (crm-ni05v:5555) or the ip.  CRM does function using the url on the CRM server.

I feel like this has something to do with either IIs or the MSCRM_CONFIG database - but am unable to find any documentation.

Can anyone point me to the right place to change the IP for our CRM server?

    Hello,

    CRM should not have any impact if the IP Address is changed. But below items need to be taken care.

    1. DNS Mapping change to the new IP Address. If in case of IFD is configured, make sure you get the DNS Mapping changed for all the identifiers (Discovery Service, Internal URL, External URL, Organization URLs).

    2. If in case the IP Address is hardcoded in the Hosts file, change it to new IP Address.

    3. Take a look at the Registry hive HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSCRM (ConfigDB, ServerURL, SQLRSServerURL).

    4. IIS Bindings of 'Microsoft Dynamics CRM' website. If it is set to 'All Unassigned', there is no need to change anything. But if it set to Old IP Address, it's worth a look to change it.

    5. Check the Connection string in Organization Table under MSCRM_Config DB. This step is if the IP Address of SQL Server is changed and Connection String has IP Address rather than name.

    6. CRM Deployment Settings in Deployment Manager. Change the URL if you are using a IP Address rather than friendly name.
