At present we have a large number of orders being for bespoke products (around 70%)
Due to this we have to create a large amount of products on the system per day. Fortunately we have a copy item wizard to help speed things up but i'm sure there will be a better way of doing this.
For example:
We may sell a standard garage door for £X
A customer will want the same door but in a custom colour costing £Y
At present we will create a new item for the standard door with a certain colour.
I believe we should just create a code for the standard door, then a separate code for colours ect...
This way we would build the order up. However it can become complicated as you can have different size doors, different locks, door frames ect....
Is there any other way of doing the above to reduce the need for so many new product codes other than what I have come up with?
Thanks
Jamie
