Migrating Data from Dynamics 365 Sandbox to Dynamics 365 Production

Hello,

I will be soon migrating data from Dynamics CRM 365 Sandbox to 365 Production.

I should do the following: Put all the customizations in a solution and import in 365 Production.

Import the data using Kingswaysoft SSIS from Sandbox to Production.

Is there any other way of doing the migration?

Thank you.

There are other tools that are available, but that should be the general approach. KingswaySoft CRM connector is a great tool for data migration.

Read the data from Sandbox and update Production.

I would recommend having a staging environment to pull the data into in case you need to do some data manipulation or lookup data (such as users or other lookup entities).

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

    Thank you fo your reply.

My project was to migrate the data from CRM 2013 OnPremise to Dynamics 365 online. I have migrated all the data to Dynamics 365 Sandbox (I believe this is the staging environment). Now I need to move data from sandbox to production environment.

I already have the users in Dynamics 365 Production.

There is a XRMToolBox control called "Data Migration using FetchXml". You can specify columns and filter criteria in the fetchXml and data according to that query will be transferred from source to target.

    Here are the steps.

    1. In the source instance go to advanced find (Microsoft removed it from UCI, but still available in "Advanced Settings"), specify columns, and filter criteria of the entity which data should be migrated.

    2. Download the fetchXml file from the advanced find.

    3. Add fetchXml file in the XrmToolBox control.

    4. Click "Transfer Data".
