Hi, i'm new to business central
can anyone tell me the different between NET CHANGE and BALANCE ?
Any example will be appreciated.
Key driver to understand the difference is dates. Dimensions can alter the value but it is less important here.
Balance = total across accounting period
Net Change = total for a date or collection of dates
So example being if my accounting period is 01/01 to 31/12 then I see the total "Balance" for that year until I close the income statement for that period.
Net change is therefore anything else I am analysing. So all postings between 28/03 and 06/04. Both dates are in the accounting period but I don't run my books by them.
thanks for the answer .
If I’m not wrong , balance means YTD ( year to date) figures . It is calculated start from the first day of my
Current financial year till I close them .
Net change is simply the total based on that date selection we input .
