CRM 2013 Outlook Client won't install on Windows 10

I just upgraded a test machine to Windows 10.  It had Windows 8.1 as well as Outlook 2013 and CRM 4.0 Outlook client.  Unfortunately I did not realize that this test machine still had the old version of CRM on it and did not get upgraded when we upgraded to CRM 2013.

At any rate, after the upgrade to Windows 10 I uninstalled CRM 4.0, but now I cannot get CRM 2013 Outlook Client to install.  I've tried the solution posted in this article https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/141653  and have also used the command line to try and install it.

Below is part of the log file I get when I try to install via command line.  I've seen how CRM won't work with the Edge browser, but nothing about it not installing.  Your help in advance is greatly appreciated

    Hello PatriciaP

I suggest to you read the features and compatibility using Windows 10 and what versions of CRM are supported.

+  Dynamics CRM Support with Windows 10, Edge browser, and Office 2016 | community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-crm-support-with-windows-10-edge-browser-and-office-2016

    Hope it helps.

Same problem here, but my problem is related to "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Report Authoring Extension", but the error message is the same. I also updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

Currently I try to solve this problem with the Microsoft support.

Thanks, I did review that article before posting.  I see that we need update roll up 4 for it to be supported.  However, usually the update roll ups are applied to an already installed program.  I can't even get it installed.  Are they going to be changing the original install file for the CRM 2013 Outlook client?  The article doesn't make that clear.

I'm also having the problem when installing the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Report Authoring Extension.  Any ETA for an update to correct this??

Looks like a common problem with Windows 10. I have it when installing Authoring Extensions...

    Hi Patricia,

As per the link shared by Jimena, Windows 10 is not supported yet for Outlook Client. Only the access through web browser is supported.

For CRM 2013, the support to Win10 will be introduced on SP1 UR 4 (6.1.4). We still don`t have an accurate data yet, but once it is available, you will have to install it on your machine which is already running Outlook Client 2013. You don`t have to uninstall anything.

Hi Flavia - do you know if  a fix for this is in the pipeline so we can use the outlook client for 2011 with windows 10?  An earlier blog indicated that this was happening and I'm curious about progress as we want to roll out Windows 10 with CRM 2011.

    Bye

    Hi itadmin,

Yes, there will be a fix to make Outlook Client 2011 be compatible to Windows 10 soon, however I unfortunately don`t have the exact dates.

RE: CRM 2013 Outlook Client won't install on Windows 10

    Hi Flavia,

I understand that CRM 2013 will not be supported with Windows 10 until Update Rollup 4 is out.  However, the outlook client for CRM 2013 is not installed on my windows 10 machine, and I cannot get it to install.  Will this update rollup include the full install?  Usually update rollups do not include the full install.

    Hi Patricia,

The update rollup does not include the full installation. Once it be supported, you will have to do the following:

    1. Install first the CRM for Outlook Client 2013 (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx).

    2. Install CRM 2013 SP1 - Client (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx) - as this is a prerequisite for SP1 UR4.

    3. Install CRM 2013 SP1 UR4 (link will be available soon).
