Dynamics 365 sandbox - user licences?

Hi All

Quick question..

For sandbox non-prod instances of Dynamics 365, do you require production user CALS for every user to access this?

From my investigations, it looks like you do, but I need clarity as Dynamics 365 for Operations doesn't work in this manner.  You can use the non-production instances of Ops without having a licence assigned to your user in the o365 portal.

    You buy a user CAL for CRM. This wil give that user a license for every CRM instance in the tenant. Depending on the licenses you have, you need to pay extra for a sanbox or extra production instances, but not for extra user CALS

    thanks.  This just works differently to Dynamics 365 for Operations whereby you don't need a user CAL to access non-prod instances.

    Hi All,

    If i purchase APP License 10 ( Sales or Customer Service ) not Plan License ( Plan 1 or Plan 2). Am i still get a Sandbox instances ?

    Refer to : technet.microsoft.com/.../dn659833.aspx

    they said : "you will be provided one when you purchase full Dynamics 365 Enterprise licenses. ". And they dont talk about APP Licenses.

    Please advise...

    Hi, since march, i believe you hqve found responses.

    So user don't need licence in a sandbox environnement and they need a licence in a production environnement ?

    For Dynamics 365 for Operations environnement :)
