GP 2010 error (A unique PO number couldn't be assigned)

Dear,

I have the same error as in this link from Microsoft ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968056#2 ).

but it is not in general for all GP 2010 it is happening only with PCs running windows 7 or 8 and internet explorer 11.

while it is fin on windows XP and internet explorer 6,

so it should not be something related to a corrupted table or so, otherwise it will affect all users, regardless their OS.

so i check the solutions which related to a certain machine as the (regional and language options) Cause 3 in the link.

and match the format options and language with the server, but still the same.

any advice...

I am also experienced the same issue and also tried all the suggestion mentioned from the KB article link mentioned above. But, we did face the same issue.

After that I have un-installed GP and re-installed with using different GP media file, it was worked fine.

I think the problem was occur due to corrupted media file ( I am not sure).

Better you can un-installed GP and re-installed with using different GP media file and check again.

Please describe which error are you receiving. Is it the duplicate PO number or the duplicate PO receipt number or both? If you go to Tools->Setup->Purchasing ->Purchase Order Processing what are the next PO numbers and next PO receipt numbers? If a user types over the PO number when entering a PO, the next time a PO is entered GP will try to find any gaps in the sequence and may revert back to an old number. Then the next PO will run into an already used PO number.

I was about to ask to see the last good PO number - I have seen cases where the user not wanting to have a bunch of ZERO's in the PO number changed the format to

PO000 and 999 PO's later the system started to generate all types of errors - but not sure this is related.

This is happening also once I open to make a receiving. after I press receiving the window opens, and it supposed to popup, to ask to select PO to receive from, but this is not happening, while it is popping-up on other PCs normally.

And in the same time once I press tab or enter to go to next field, it supposed to give a serial number for receiving, but it generates this error.

Please note that, this is happening all the time on PCs that running windows 7 or 8 and IE 11.

But I have old PCs with windows XP and IE 6 they are working fin.

I was expecting it is either internet option properties, as script not enabled or so on zones on those PCs, but I try that, i enable everything on all zones .. but noting changed.

And in the Microsoft solution, the only one solution which deals with that, where the problem is happening on some PCs not the others .... is case 3, which I try its solution.

The other cases solved by Microsoft in the link, they are expecting that the error is for everyone, and then try to solve it from the Data Base respective, where it is not my case, since it is working on some PCs fin!!!

Also as suggested. that the media that I used on those PCs was corrupted, so I try another one too. the same!!!

Hope some one have any idea, what i can do.

Have you tried turning on the DEXSQL.LOG on the computers where it does not work and comparing to a computer that does work? Here are the instructions on how to do that.

Look at the instructions right after your tab past the po or receipt number field.

If you have access to SSMS it would be interesting to see what is returned from these two scripts
